Have a 2003 EX purchased new with now 130000 KM. Very well maintained. New brakes all around 5000 KM ago and new Michelins 30000 KM ago. Van has been very solid except-tranny went out and needed to be replaced at 112000 KM. Especially with new baby on the way, questions about car's reliability exist. How reliable are the replacement trannies? Should I just sell this vehicle and get something else (we'd look carefully at a Jetta wagon TDI)? Is it still likely we'll get 200000 KM+ from the Honda as we originally hoped? I realize no one can say for sure, but I'd be glad to hear good info on how to proceed. Thanks.

 Now Now. They are actually getting better. It was for a while you would get around 45k out of a reman tranny or less but now we are seeing less and less of them coming back.

Better, yes. But he's looking to get another 85,000 miles out of it :shakehead. Not likely.
