Quick Question on Electrical System

Hi I have a 92 3000GT VR4 and recently noticed that after I shut the car off and restart it, it forgets all of the settings for the car (ie. air conditioner, sport/touring mode, etc.) It always starts the car up with the ac on set to the same temperature and fan speed even if I turn it off or change it. It would seem to me that the 12 Volt constant from the battery isn't going to the electrical system after the car shuts off in order to remember the settings.

Is this normal, or does anyone have any idea what is causing this?

It starts in Tour no matter what...i don't know about obd I, but with mine it remembers the last temp I set it at (obd II)...does it remember the radio codes?

I dont know about the radio, since the guy I bought the car from had the stock HU replaced with 2 after market ones. They were non-functional but I disconnected them and put my pioneer HU in and I have it running the stock speakers. Weird thing is that I found no + battery wire that put out 12 volts when the car was off, only an acc wire that puts +12v out when the car is on.

But the only thing that kind of bugs me is that the A/C doesn't remember its previous settings. My pioneer deck doesn't just because there isn't a +12v constant wire, so I am probably going to just add one straight from the battery.

Whoa man! slow down.... I'd bet its just a fuse, I had it happen once and this was the cause although i cant remember now which fuse had blown... check the 10amp ones in the car and under the hood... I'm fairly sure that will fix your radio issue al;so! good luck!:sunglasse

It is definitely a fuse. There is a 12v constant but because of the fuse that blown its no longer hot once the key is turned off. There are a number of fuses it could be as quite a few actually work that system. One to check that may not be obvious though is the battery fusible link in the fuse box under the hood.

Thanks guys, it turns out that it was simply a couple of blown fuses. I replaced them and now everythign works great!
