Didn't know he was gonna go.
So I was just gonna come off the light slowly.

Light goes green. I hear the 'Stang open it up. I still came off the line slowly.
Once I was rolling, I punched it. Barely kept traction. By this time, Mustang guy has 3 cars on me and probably feeling pretty good about himself.
Made those up right as I was shifting into 2nd gear. Took second out to about 65 MPH. Had 3-4 cars on him from what I could tell.
I was turning off, so I slowed up. He was cool about it, no fly-by.
I did hear him yell as he went by...."Yeah, you won!!"

Appeared to be a late 90's GT.

I wish my 2nd went to 65, nice catch up and pass since I cant really call it a race cuz you didnt know he was gonna punch it like that.

He was WOT off the line and was still WOT when I passed him.
He certainly was racing.

The reason I didn't come off the line hard was I didn't think he was going to try anything. My race clutch allows two launches....slow or full on. Nothing inbetween really.
I had already started into the slow start. If I would have dumped the car would have bogged.
So I waited until I was fully engaged then went after him.

I shoulda said "fair race", as in both of ya'll got to launch your cars. Like you said you didn't know he was gonna go WOT like that so you had to catch up, so I was just implying I woulda liked to see how it would've gone had you got off the line right, wonder how many more cars you would've had on him.

Mine only gets to about 60 in 2nd. Be nice if I could beef mine up a bit.

I think if I wanted to, 80 MPH in 2nd is do-able.

Is that for both versions or only the VR-4, I've been thinkig about upgrading to something a little faster. My friend is getting a lil cocky and I need to make him realize he isn't that fast.

I don't like custom plates that say crap like "ucntwin" or "u8v8dst" err anything similair. Dunno why just never bit into that kind of stuff. Make sure you put that stanger in his place. I almost had to put a 68 Maro in his tonight. He revved goin the opposite direction, i turned around but he took off i couldn't find him. I probably would've lost though. Sounded like it had a damn big block in it....loud as hell.

Truthfully, the lower the number the deeper the gear. Most likely meaning the lower the number, the faster the car. At least compared to the same car with a lower gear ratio.

I am going from 3.42 to 4.10 very soon. Suddenly I will be shifting out of 2nd a decent amount earlier, but I will be to that speed much quicker.

Yup, gears can make or break you in 1/4 mile acceleration stuff. I'm also moving up to 4.10's very soon. So instead of crossing the line at 5300 with the 3.73's and slicks. i'll be crossing around 6000rpm. And the 4.10's will help keep the engine bogging off the line when using slicks.
