I'm watching a Speed TV show with Tommy Kendall test driving the BMW M cars in Germany. He's with Hans Stuck and they visited the BMW Mobile Tradition restoration building. They showed a lot of the cars in there, but only one picture in a slideshow of 18R. They talked about the BMW Art cars, M1, V12 LMR, but nothing on the F1, just that one picture. Cool stuff, though.

I saw that last weekend and was hoping for more F1 content, but you are right, all they showed was #18R and then only briefly. I like those shows though - they are very well put together. The one he did on the AMG cars was just as good, featuring Mika Hakkinen and Klaus Ludwig.
For those who missed the BMW episode, SpeedTV.com says it will re-air Sat, Jul 1 at 10:00PM Eastern time.

Although this may be subject to change, I have been informed by Goodwood press Office that BMW Mobile Tradition are running/display their long tail GTR at the festival in two weeks time.
I know the chassis #, so I will let someone else report on that subject!!

If #26R is in the USA and #23R is in Germany, it would stand to reason that the Mobile Tradition longtail should be #21R, would it not?

It would seem more likely that BMW would have kept 26R, rather that purchase 21R back from Team Carl Racing. Is it not more probable that Aaron Hsu's long tail chassis is 21R and BMW's 26R !!!!!!!!!!.
The only unconfirmed long tail chassis now is 28R (Gulf/Davidoff Chassis)which has not been seen since the end of the 97 season.

You sure Aaron Hsu had a longtail? I saw a bonnet hanging in his garage which was definitely for a non longtail car.

The two chassis at Highcroft Racing CT, are supposed to belong to Arron Hsu. The ex Gulf 12R and the Ex BMW Chassis.

By process of elimination, didn't we decide that the Gulf longtail which has been seen in Japan should be #28R?

F1 Monster,
Interesting, have you a pic of the bonnet or can you explain what it looked like.

I would think they would only mention the F1 in passing because it is a McLaren and BMW now has their own factory team in the F1 series and would like to down play the connection a rival team as much as possible... maybe.

A 1 hour television show here in the USA on SPEED Channel called "Test Drive" hosted by Tommy Kendall, who is a fairly well known/successful Grand-Am racer here in the States.
This particular episode had him test driving the new BMW M Roadster in Germany with Hans Stuck in an M6 (he broke 190mph on the German autobahn), and then continued here in the USA with Joey Hand (a factory BMW race driver) behind the wheel of a pair of new M5s, then a short segment on the new M-Coupe from an editor of Road&Track magazine, and then Tommy finished up the show with the President of BMW North America, Tom Purves, both behind the wheel of a piar of M6s at Lime Rock. The section with Hans Stuck featured an overview of the Mobile Tradition Museum and focused on some of BMWs impressive racing history.
