Bonnet release catch location?

I have been asked over the phone how to open the bonnet on a Peugeot 405 (1994).
I am not familiar with Peugeot cars, but they could not see a lever on the steering wheel or footwell.
I suppose it will be similar on most Peugeots, so any advice would be welcome.

Welcome to AF, 2zingy.:)

I'll check in my Peugeot 405 service and repair manual and get back to you on this soon.

(By the way, you posted this in the wrong forum, so I moved it for you)

You're welcome. It's funny that this manual tells you how to replace every part of the car, but doesn't tell how to open the bonnet. Where did the release catch turn out to be?

It was in the passengers footwell, he was looking in the drivers footwell as that is where they usually are and what it showed in the user manual.
It was in a garage so could not see very well.
