What model GP do you have to include engine size and mileage?
To find out which DTC error code(s) triggered the SES/CEL light you need to have it scanned with an odbii scanner. Places like AZ will do it for free.

I'm curious as to what was done on the tuneup and what the cost was?

i just purchased the car and the previous owner did the tune up, plugs, wires, air filter , stuff like that. don't know the cost.

i took your advice and went down to AZ and the code po420, catalyst effiency below threshold, bank 1 came up. any idea what that means?

So far the general consensus is the CAT.
