i plan on buying a set of 6-1/2" polk speakers( for the front door panels) http://akamaipix.crutchfield.com/products/2003/107/h107db6500.jpeg
now looking at these im seeing 2 mids and 2 tweeter and I would need to drill a hole for the tweeters right???? also I plan on getting the kick panel boxes to hold another set of 5-1/4" Components up front would this be to much???(4 mids plus 4 tweeters up front)??? or should i just upgrade my stocks and leave it at that??? the speakers in my truck are going to be powered by a 4ch 800 watt power acoustik amps
2ohm 85watts max each ch.
or 4ohm 70watts max each ch.
for bass im going to use 2 Ma audio subs 500 watts max each powered with a 1000 watt max kenwood amp
Thank for your input :)

I think it depends on your stock trim level. My door panel already has two holes, one for a tweeter, but I know they all don't. I just never paid attention to which trucks did or didn't.

I was wondering how hard is it to install speakers ? Any re-wiring ? I blew my passager side speakers some how, guess i shouldn't listen to music that loud, oh well..How long do you think it would take ?

i would say just adding new speakers would make a huge difference, but adding kick panels as well you can get more sound out of it. look at my doors, they are coax speakers but they have crossovers so they act just like components. i like having the extra highs up front.

they are basically components but the tweeters are mounted to the speaker, but they swivel. the crossovers are separate from the speakers like components. but how low your speakers are going to be in the door i would do components just so you get the tweeter up a little higher and get some better sound.
