Hello,

I going to change my tranny oil to redline synthetic oil. Please tell me where is the tranny drain plug located at. Nissan Maxima Automatic transmission.
Thanks in advanced.

You'll need to flush out the tranny in order to change it over correctly. The transmission holds approx. 12 quarts of oil. If you just drain it with the drain plug your only going to get about 4 quarts out.

To do the DIY flush, disconnect the lower cooling line from your transmission at the radiator. Have a buddy help you with this process. You need a container that holds 4 quarts of used oil.

Put an extension tube (home depot) on the tranny cooling line. Place the end in a container to catch the fluid as your car pumps it out. You only want to pump out 4 quarts at a time. Don't let the pump run dry.

Start your car and your tranny will pump the old fluid out. When your 4 quart container becomes almost full, turn the car off and refill with 4 quarts of Red Line fluid.

Repeat this process 3 times or untill you see fresh fluid being pumped out.

When your finished your tranny will be completely flushed and full of Red Line Tranny Fluid.

ENJOY THE RIDE!
