I think its easier to work the small stuff myself. Not nearly the surface to fill, file or sand. And, at least for me, I can use everyday stuff laying around the house for things like exhaust, mirrors, hub caps etc that just wouldn't work at all on even 1/43 scale. The main thing is a good magnifier. Preferably one you wear on your head. And a good set of tweezers. I shake like a leaf so that doesn't have much bearing on the outcome.
