programming key fob

i have a 1995 bonneville and the correct key fobs for it but cannot figure out how to program it to my car.

i tries crossing the termials 8 and 4 and the car does lock and then unlock but then after shuting the doors and turning the ignition switch to the on position the doors do not lock.

i was wondering if anyone can help me on how to program my key fobs to my car.

replace the batteries and then just press lock and unlock buttons together while holding the door lock button in the lock position.
