Throttle Bodies
this is basically the mouth of the engine taking in air, it opens and closes allows you to idle, peel out, or pull on someone like mad dentist. TB;s are interchangeable and you can accomplish this in 3 ways… 1)find other throttle bodies from other cars, 2) get your stock one bored and make a plate that will fit the new boring, or 3) buy one which will be the easiest and use your stock one for the core charge.
If you find another one from another car, that will be trial and error. Supposedly the 2.3TB fits a 2200 with no mods. The 2.2 from 95-97 is a harder to find and most likely will have to use option 2 or 3. 2.4’s can get them from the same places as well and the same options.

A tb spacer doesnt do jack shit for our cars. Might as well blow your nose with the money it would have cost.

here's a reason. all it does is let more air in......if u didnt upgrade your fuel system it would be almost pointless. and if you had the stock air box it wouldnt do anything at all. im guessing you might see 2-3 hp MAYBE....if ur gonna upgrade ur t/b and all that shit, might as well get some new injectors. at least thats how i feel about it.

I just bought a throttle body and an intake manifold from a junkyard, then took it to a performance shop and got them to bore it out. They only could bore it out 2mm, any more they would have gotten into the housings that were there. I also did a Throttle body heater bypass mod, i can feel a difference, but not a big one,

Our cars dont have flow problems out of the box so that alone makes a tb spacer useless. The only other things they are suposed to do is spin the air to get a ramming effect which it doesnt.
If someone would like to let me know how spinning maybe 2 inches of air is a performance upgrade I would love to know and still call it BS.

Stock size is 52mm.. a deacent sized one is 56mm which is what the 2.3 motor is. If you go any bigger your really not doing anything more for your car unless your using forced induction.

it cost me 45 bucks for the tb and manifold at junkyard and 170$ for the boring at the shop
i took the tb and manifold off an 90' cavalier z24(i have a 91' rs), the only problem i had was my bolts from my car wouldn't fit, so i went to crappy tire and got some new bolts, works fine.

Yes the 2.3 TB bolts right up to the intake manifold. If i recall correctly the only thing that may gave you a problem is when the car is in idle, people have complained about a hissing noise. Also if you have cruise control there is a mod to it you have to do. If there is enough insterest I will dig up that info for you guys.

Please, I'm interested, is it if you have cruise regardless? Or if I use cruise i need the mod?
