ok, heres the scoop. i did my rear disk conversion and while doing so i found i had to remove the intake to install the integra booster/master. while removing the intake i destroyed the main pcv hose and the one to the egr valve. of course it ran like shit while these were off, so i got new hoses from honda thinking ill replace and itll be good as new.
well i replaced them and it still runs like shit and now when you give it some gas it makes this horrible squealing sound that sounds like its somewhere around or below the intake. everything seems to be hooked up ok and i replaced the intake gasket as well. any ideas of what it could be? it ran fine with no squealing before i started this project and now im just lost. any help would be appreciated.

I think it's your alternator or the belt. Maybe the start of the noise is just a coincidence? Try removing the belt, see if the noise goes away. GL

The squeal sounds like either a drivebelt or worse yet, your timing belt... i'd get that checked right away.

i feel strongly that it is not a belt. or the alt. the hose from the egr goes down between the intake plenum, that is where it seems to be coming from. what down in that area spins? it almost sounds like a bearing going bad of some type. remember it still idles rough and is slow to rev, once revved a bit is when it starts squealing. thanks for the replies though, hopefully there will be more.

Your welcome.
Hmmm, perhaps the tensioner going bad and the timing belt has jumped a tooth or two? Maybe a massive vacum leak inside the booster? Try disconnecting and plugging the booster vacum hose? Def needs more investigation.

My CAI and TB squeal a little when I accelerate, only when im in this sweet spot with the throttle, any more or less and no squeal, its like a whistle from the intake..kinda drives me nuts, took the CAI off once and it quieted down but still cme from the TB some..

well i found it after some searching. turns out my shitty shadetree mechanics were to blame. when removing the intake a piece of the old gasket was left in the intake and causing the squealing as the air rushed through. doh! after some disassembly and reassambly and another gasket were back in business. thanks to all that replied, whod a thunk it?

haha, the simple things.. I tried for about 2 days to figure out why the hell my idle was steady at about 1500rpm, it was really beggining to piss me off, it turns out that while my intake was removed, a piece of wire loom (electrical tape) had been sucked into the TB and was still attacked to the harness...it was holding the plate open and causing my idle to go way up, when I finally realised what it was I kicked myself for a good 10 minutes..
