How about the ground from the battery to the engine block. Any corrosion anywhere. I know you have a new battery but what is the state of charge. Should be 12.6 volts. Do a voltage drop test on the ground from the battery to the block, no more than .3 volts should be seen with a voltmeter. Wouldn't hurt to do the positive from battery to the starter also. Check voltage drop while cranking the engine.

sounds like wire from ignition switch to starter solenoid is bad, bad solenoid?
