Sweet model. I've got the 1/12th Doyusha version waiting to be built. Looks the the Tamiya one has almost as much detail.

Ditto!

I saw one earlier this month at an old car meet - they're absolutely tiny:

It even makes an MG Midget look big!

Keep meaning to get along to that event. Was JayKay there with his Gullwing Merc again?

Holy cow that little tuned up S800 is rad!

Nice work on the chassis of the model too. I am looking forward to seeing this progress, it's a fun little kit. Way more fun than model.

Very nicely and cleanly detailed

What did you use to replicate the dial glass? It looks exceptionally clear.

I used clear 5min epoxy as lenses for the gauges

Very nice build of the S.
I have four models of the S800 ( 1 tamiya racing, 1 doyusha 1:24, 1 doyusha 1:12 and 1 otaki? 1:12 coupe ).
The 1:12 convertible is still nib and the 1:12 coupe is for restauration/ rebuild.
The coupe kit isn't to find anywhere nowadays.
My dad has owned two coupe's ( sold 12 years ago ) and one convertible ( sold last year ), here in the netherland are they for sale sometimes, but parts are hard to get and very expencive.

Go on with the good work.
By the way, it's the first type of the 800. You can see it on the rearaxle, it's a part axle and two parts of chaindrive ( same as the S600 ).
