Well I head on out to my 97 blazer and i noticed a puddle under the front. DOH!!! I do a finger test and its a clear oil. HMMM. Its under the front passanger side kinda under the battery area. So under I go to take a look. What do I find??? Nuttin, not one trace of any leak. Double check to make sure i do see the oil. I do. WTF????? Could it be from the tranfer case??? or Could it be the hub??? Its all dry up under there so I am lost. There is a small knocking sound that started the last few days. Sounds liek a ball joint or maybe the torsion bar mount. You all got any ideas?

Yea it is but the oil is clear. Not engine oil. Plus the oil was too far forward under the battery or corner of the front bumper. Dip stick is too far back.

Well, the bad news maybe that the intake is leaking and it runs down the block - or water pump. Look at the WP 2 holes by the bearing/seal for leakage. Intake look at the front seal where it meets the block and also between the valve covers and intake it can seep and run down depending on parking angle.

Well I found it. My oil cooler lines are leakign so bad that it has filled up the skid plate and other area that will hold oil. So the fuild is brand new engine oil that I poured in. I must have parked on a angle allowing the oil to drain out off the plate. I just have to shake my head at these trucks some times. I feel stupid. First for buying one second for getting stumped on this stupid problem.

It could be Power Steering Pump Fluid, Tranmission Fluid, 4X4 transaxle
fluid Engine Oil... Dextron Antifreeze. People get cranky when the AC water drips out from the passenger side...
OIL IS BROWN
TRANSMISSION IS RED
POWER STEERING IS RED
DEXTRON IS RED
ANTI FREEZE IS GREEN.

Yep, been there too and the Dorman lines have better crimps and are available at most stores - oil drips into that plastic skid and into that frame cross member too and all Blazers owners who have not changed these lines should always look at the 4 crimps thru the oil filter door for fast or high leakage (most common place on 4wd - had a few 4wds that only dripped for many years before I changed them. But one kid came home one day and the line crimp had just blown out (2wd has 1 hose only and switches rubber to metal under radiator and didn't look there often cause filter is on block) and luckily had 1.5 qts oil left with rest all over the bottom of the Blazer!! That was a close one so change them out.

Its fresh oil, those lines must have been leaking alot to get it on under the opposite side of the vehicle.

Yea they were. I just changed out the lines. That job sucks. The underside of the blazer is nasty looking. oil everywhere. In the middle of cleaning it now. What happend was the oil everytime I filled it up it would leak into the skid plate. I guess it got so full when I parked on an angle it leaked off the plate.

mountie1982, if your just getting new lines could I possibly talk you into sendng me your old ones. It 2.8L that I'm yanking out didn't have anything like that, but the 6.2L Diesel that Im dropping in does. I'd like to see if the 4.3L lines will work with my conversion before waisting a bunch of extra coin on something that might not work

That would be great mountie1982 :smokin:
Believe it or not I'm thinking of all sorts of potential problems with this swap before I get to them. I wonder what'll happen when I get to a big problem.

I'm just east of Osoyoos, I could probably get the fish BC delivery network to bring them up pretty quick if it works out for you.

I was past your place about a week ago but didn't have the time to visit with anyone :shakehead
