I have a 1993 Geo Tracker that has some running problems. what is happenning is when it's warm out or after driving it for a long period of time, sitting at a traffice light, or shifting from1st to 2nd gear the car runs very rough, it spits and sputters. When I go to give it gas it'll ocassinally do nothing at all (no reving of the engine rpms) for like the first 3 seconds then it'll finally go. when it does finally go it spits and sputters like it is going to stall. I have changed the plugs, wires, pcv valve, cleaned the egr valve, and the problem still exists. The check engine light is also on. Could somebody possiable please tell what could be wrong and what I would have to do to correct the issue. Thanks

You can read your code being thrown and all you need is a paperclip. That should start you off. Go from there. I don't like to speculate when you could tell us why the check ingine light is on.
If you don't have a repair manual get one or take into a mechanic.

Also tell us how many miles are on the car... the check engine light comes on after 50 or 75 just for nothing but to tell u it's time for a checkup.... I cleared my 92 by going behind the right front speaker(pulled off) and there's a button to reset.
I've had problems like yours and it sounds like you have a timing issue... i sure as h e double hockey sticks did and not even a mechic of 15 year could fix it... read my posts to find out how I did.
