Headlights effecting running

I just bought a 1989 Wrangler. It runs fine after it warms up, however,when i turn on the headlights or the interior lights it starts to sputter and shuts off. Any ideas as to what in the heck this might be?:banghead:

could be your alternator starting to go bad ... also what is causing it to run bad when its cold ? choke or ? could be the place to start , and does it cut off like its a elect. short or sudden loss of carb action like rpms to low

It "hiccups" a few times, then shuts off like it may be an electrial short. The tach is broke, but the rpms do not seem to decrease. Hmmm?
