Hi guys, this is my first post. I need some help bad. I just installed a new fuel pump in my old 1989 s-10. Now it won't hit a lick. I can hear the fuel pump cut on and a couple of clicks under the hood, but nothing. Any ideas on what I can do to check and see whats wrong.

You need 3 things for an engine to run: fuel, spark and compression. Find out which of those it is/isn't getting and go from there.

It's fuel. There is none comming out of the injectors. There is 12.4 volts at the injectors, 12.4 at the fuel pump relay and at the connector where the fuel pump hooks up by the tank there is 8.38 volts. Any ideas?

Does the fuel pump run or put out pressure?
Check the gray fuel pump wire for 12 volts and check ground.

The two wires going to the fuel pump are hard to tell the colors. One of them has 8.38 volts, the other has nothing. Have not checked for pressure.

I missed the wire color. On a 89 s-10 the fuel pump power feed wire is tan/white. Check for 12 volt power from fuel pump relay to fuel pump on left front fender tan/white wire. Also there is a tan/white fuel pump prime connector around there some place.
Can you hear fuel pump run?
At fuel pump connector check for 12 volts on tan/white wire and make sure you have a good ground. Usually a black wire.
