Problem on Passenger side floorboard

Ok here's the deal. I was running the RCA cables for my amp and I pulled up the passenger side carpet, and much to my dismay the carpet and padding is soaked. Now it is just water and not antifreeze (I already did the search on the problem and found nothing to help)

So after digging around and checking out all of the could be's I just decided to look on the floor to see if there is a hole of some sort. To my suprise there is, BUT it looks like it is something from the factory. It is about 3inches in diamiter and kind of an oval shape. It has a fill piece that looks like it was welded in but the welds broke and now is very loose.

I am going to tak pictures of it tomorrow and post them on here so maybe someone can explain what the hell this thing is. If you have had this problem or even know of it PLEASE help me out here. I am now going to have to replace all of the carpet because of the very bad smell that is now produced frrom the very wet carpet and padding (I didn't smell anything until I actually pulled the carpet up)

Also if you know of any place that sells pre molded carpet for a 2000 Blazer 2 door let me know. :banghead:

Stylinconcepts.com does, but it is expensive, like 300 bucks for a carpet set-up.

There is a guy down here in Sarasota on ebay named s10warehouse, you might wanna shoot him an email, that is really expensive he could probably get one for you cheaper, it would be used however.

Just dry it out and check to see that your AC condensor drain is not plugged up.

The carpet is pretty well shot anyway so I figure I might as well just put in a new one. The salt from my shoes has pretty much eaten away alot of the color (turned it to a nice shade of crap brown/gray)

I have looked at all of the obvious reasons why the wetness would be there (A.c. condenser drain, weatherstripping, ect.) but it just seems to be that hole and nothing else.

Check the drain and also make sure you always keep the air intake by the windshield clean of debry, I had some leaves plug up the catch box down there and was causing the water to run down the firewall onto my carpet. Once fixed carpet dried and everything allset.

I have the same problem -- Where is this hole??? I looked and I can't find anything - I have my blazer all torn apart drying out the carpet. Windshield looks good -- this drain for the windshield -- where does it run -- and why would it come along the firewall on the inside?? And yes it is water -- no antifreeze. - but a quick note - I dont know if it has anything to do with it but my AC worked last summer and this summer it dont -- and it was this spring that i noticed a mold smell and this last weekend i found out where the smell is coming from. But i an mot sure why its wet yet - ANy helo that would be great!! I am glad I have a back-up car while my Blazer is drying out
