alright guy just got back from bonnaroo and i worked on the car today. got a ton done and its almost ready for the street!! got all the hoses and lines hooked up and its sittin pretty. i got the axles in and but the drivers side seems like it wont go in all the way but its almost there. the bolt to the lower arm is in and now i just have to get the castle nuts on the ball joints on. as i get them to a certain spot the joint starts rotating as i turn. to stop this should i try to grab it with some vice grips and clean the bolts?? or should i just replace them..id rather not do it now cuz i just need the car to get to work and ive heard it can be a pain.
also my throttle cable from the crx doesnt meet right so that i can slip the adjustable bolt into place. on the old manifold it met up on the passenger side and now its closer to the drivers. do i need to get a 92 throttle cable since my b16 is a 92??
i tried to start it up today but i think my battery went dead over the month it was out of the car. when i turn it over its getting fuel and my lights come on but it dies. i tried jumpin it with my friends car but it still wouldnt start. any one kno if this is probly the problem? i need to hook up my extra wires on my jumper to read my codes still but i just want to see if anyone has an idea. im gonna put my bosch plugs from the d16 on and put some new spark plugs in it and need to kno what all parts im gonna need to get this thing runnin by friday

If your ball joints seem torn and flat like a pancacke then you need to replace em. I heard they are a major bitch to replace and even i'm debating on whether or not i should put in the time to replace mine. You either need to get a ball joint press or have a machine shop press em in. Oh and im pretty sure you need to take the whole freakin knuckle assembly out... and on top of that you need to get an alignment after installation...pretty much whenever you do suspesnion work, you need to get a damn alighnment...blows

soak em with pb blast, then use and impact and just sit there with an impact. they WILL tighten eventually...even if it's just like .5mm's per min.

i had some needle nose pliers on top and just tightened the lower part with a rachet. it worked great once you get to a certain point you dont need to grip it anymore. they will slip so use your strong hand for the pliers.

when it comes to ball joint. i have an 89 and i dont know if they did it from factory or if the previous owner did it but the ball joint was welded to the control arm. i have an 88 rex and it wasn't welded. so i would be sure you know what you have. a way to tell if the ball joint is bad is lift the car up so all the wieght is off the wheel, then tug on the wheel back and forth. if there is play in there then the ball joiont is bad

you grab the wheel at 3 and 9, movement? Bad tie rod.
you grab the wheel at 6 and 12, movement? Bad wheel bearing or Ball Joint.
You can sometimes bang this out with a big hammer, me and my buddy did it before, then back the new one back in, and yes you need to take the hub off to do it.
For the throttle cable you need a 90-93 integra cable.

For the throttle cable you need a 90-93 integra cable.
you can however get the dx to work fine if you are on a budget.
Route it under the driver's side engien mount bracket and back over, then mount it up as if it were the 90-93 cable. Works perfect every time. It's just not pretty.

they're not too bad. It's about a 45 min job. You use snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring. Then you need to hammer the joint out. You're not going to bang the old one out with a regular hammer though. You need a 3 or 5lb hammer (ones that look like a small mallet). It'll come right out. Do the same thing when putting in the new one. Just hammer the thing in. It'll go in fine. Don't worry about damaging it when hammering it from the top. Reinstall the new snap ring. Done. Hub removal isn't necessary, but it is about 100x easier if you do, and faster usually.

k guys i got one of the castles on i just need to work on the drivers side some more and soak it again i think.
i went to a junkyard yesterday to look for a cable but the integra they had had its cable cut. what other throttle cables have you guys used when doin this swap..i looked in some 92+ civics but its still close to the tb like my stock one.
also ive got all my fluids in and everything plugged up. i tried startin the motor and its cranking like it wants to start but just doesnt have enough power. i put in a new battery and v power plugs. do you guys think i need new plug wires too??

you can use your stock cable. Read my post above. Check to see if you have spark, that'll tell you if you need new wires or whatnot.

but i have an si not a dx. im gonna go the yard in the morning and try to find a cable, but at most places people like to just cut the wire rather than take the time to take it off. oh well maybe ill get lucky..i think ill go get new wires tomorrow since ive got a giftcard for autozone lol
