Hey, this might be my last update on the '88 Civic LX that won't start, 'cause I'm out of $$. -0K- No spark at the plugs, here's what I've replaced:

Coil
Igniter
Cap
Rotor
Plugs
Battery

Could all this freakin' trouble be the spark plug wires??? Or ANYthing else???
Thanks!

P.s. How do I tell if the distributor is bad?

P.s. How do I tell if the distributor is bad?

replace it with one that works to find out.

I doubt it's the plug wires. Just take another set from any other honda or acura 4 cylinder that you know work. just borrow them from a friend or something and then try them in yours to see if it starts.
Did you try the main relay yet? try checking your alternator and ecu fuses. Do you hear the fuel pump "hum" when you turn the key to "on"? Does the check engine light blink and then go out when you first turn the key to on? Does the ecu light blink once when you turn the key to on? check all of your grounds, especially the one on the thermostat.

try all that. he pretty much covered it. and im starting to think it wasent ever your distributor. and check the plugs to the distributor. check all the little pins in the plugs make sure they arent poping out when you plug it in. just check the most rediculus things so you know it isnt those things for sure.

on one of my old civics, i had a no start problem, one day when i had the cap off looking at everything I noticed a rip in the insulation of the wire, and a spot where you could see it was arching and grounding too. I fixed it with some heat shrink and the car started up just fine.

Did it just stop all of the sudden? I had this happen to me once - and it ended up being the timing belt instead of distributor. Not sure if you've checked that already, but if you haven't I would and make sure that your rotor inside the distro cap is turning.
