Are you aware of your death?

Ok i saw The Others today, its a cool movie, nice ending too. Here's the question of the day. When you die are you aware that you have died? See, I believe when you die you will stay wherever it is you die forever. if you died in your house your soul or esence if you will, will remain there. This doesnt mean that i dont believe in heaven or not, because to be honest with you I dont know. If there is then why are there souls that still remain behind. Anyway back t the question, so after you die are you aware that you're dead or does it take someone to tell or show you? would you just wake up as if nothing happened but the world go on without you? Death is a really fucked up topic and is really complicated, so what do you all think?

When I think about this the only conclusion that I come to is that the moment you die you are no longer aware of anything.
Every living thing will die, are there all these souls wondering around for every insect and fish? Humans are just advanced animals after all. With our advanced capacity to think we also have an advanced capacity to feel, but at the end of the day we are just a collection of cells just like everything else.
The only thing that makes me think there might be a chance of an afterlife is the good evidence for ghosts.

I try not to think about death and take each day as it comes.
I just hope that if there is a life after death it's better then the fucked up world that we live in now.
If i do think of death, i think it's just another part of a journey in the life we are in and its time to move on to something better.
I like to think we are all in some time machine and when we pass on we can have a little play with our former life....change this and that and see what or may have happened in our life.
But..... who knows what happen's after death...do you go to heaven.......is there a heaven...do you just move on to another life...mmmmmm ????

ok, but if you do move on to a new body, mind, and soul, what happens to your old life? do you remember it or is it just a fart in the wind. my life is pretty cool and i wouldnt want to forget anything about it. i wouldnt mind being able just to move on but be able to remember everything in my past lives. Also we do we become consience of our selves? when we are born do we start collecting information and start thinking? sorry to be blabing on but damn, some of this stuff just makes me wonder for a looong time.

I've heard of a theory that states deja-vu is just your soul remembering something in the past life. Ever think about this? I get the STRONGEST feeling of deja-vu evreyday, at least 3 times a day, it drives me insane :bloated: :D
Not tryin to sound lke ta tough-guy but I'm not at all afraid of death because, well. I won't know I'm dead.

What scares me the most about dying is having my family go through the "stuff" in my appartment after I die.

The only people that know for sure about life after death and the awareness of their death are DEAD! And they ain't talking.....
The only way to know for sure is to die. I for one am not willing to find out that information at this time.

I have laid in my bed and thought about this many times and it often keeps me awake into the wee hours of the morning. i lay there and think about how one day we will have have to sit there and realize we are going to die at some point. You cannot escape it and everything that you know of now will one day disappear and you have no control over it. It boggles my mind and doesnt seem possible that one day you will fade into nothingness and you will no longer "be". I might be crazy but its what i have formulated in my head during those hours.

How about this? When you die, you get buried in the earth. You then rise up to become grass or some kind of plant. When an animal eats you, this is where you find out if you were a good person in your life. If your bad, you get digested and become poop. And you live the rest of your life becoming a plant and then feces. A very sad cycle indeed. :disappoin . If you're good in your previous life, you get digested and end up becoming little animal sperm. Then you get a chance at life again! You may end up being a cow, dog, cat, or even a human again! Just a little food for though. No pun intended.

When a thread dies, where does it go? Does it just wander about cyberspace aimlessly? Does it stay at its website, trapped there for eternity? Or does it go on to a 'cyber-heaven' for threads that die?

the movie "the sixth sense"?
hah... yea ok, maybe you die and dont realise it, but acutaly, you would realise it.
what if someone shot you in the face. would you go " shit im bleeding... oh wait im acutally fine -continues walking wihtout realising myself on the floor-" or "-plop- eekkkkaajjrr..rar.r..... -.- "
at some stage, you know ure dead. thats all to it. i think anyway..
or maybe if someone kills you, then you know for sure ure dead, and if you die of natural causes you go to a beter place, or even like you said, continue on doing what you do.
haha blindside.AMG that sounds kinda funny. but who knows where the hell do animals come from. i mean.. when they die. do they i dunno, become human afterwards aswell? and what not? toad, or a rat in that case?
-.- blaah, i wish i knew.

Threads are dead when they are several months old (and this on is in the years category). If you want to discuss the topic more, start a new thread. The people involved with this original one are long gone or have finished with it. Please read the forum guidelines.

I think you misunderstood me. I wasn't asking where dead threads go, or what one is, I already know. I was being sarcastic because a long-dead thread has been resuscitated to a semi-comatose state.
As for reading the guidelines, I did when I first registered with AF... and I've checked them for updates over the past two years I've been a member.
I was just being philosophically sarcastic by asking where a dead thread goes when it dies as opposed to where a person would go when they die. Nothing more, nothing less.

I believe in instant reincarnation, one second you die the next second your born. No heaven, No Hell just constant life until the end of time

I beleive when you die your spirit(soul) goes to be with God. I also believe that only humans have souls.
