I have a 95 Jimmy 2 door and I need to replace the retaining clips on the door. I'm gonna wait till i change my speakers out, which should be sometime in the next week. I would just like to know how many clips i need to completely redo the front door.

Some stuff is not worth going to the dealer for, price wise. For the head ach then ones i got at advanced auto, 4 band-aids later, i should have went to the dealer. The ones i got the base look like a disfigured Pack-Man and were such a pain to get in, I had to trim every one.:banghead:

Yup I did the same thing, bought them from AutoBone and they did not fit right, definitely (and I can't believe I am saying this) go to the dealer.

Hehehe...

Me too!

Get the real deal or you will have to trim all the aftermarket ones to fit.

Can the dealer for pricing.

You sure of that, that price sounds awefully high.

maybe im thinkin of the clips for the grill but im pretty sure the interior retainers are not cheap either. might be better off to go to a junk yard and take some of another blazer.

I found some at NAPA for the door of my 89 Blazer. They fitted reasonably well.

After the third NAPA door handle broke I splurged out and bought a handle from the dealer at an exorbitant price. I hope this handle lasts more than 6 months.

Problem with junk yard is the plastic is soooooo cheap u pull a door panel of 3-4 times u need new ones, and when they get old they get britle and just taking them off will most likely break them. i cant see them being too expensive.

$2.04 from my local dealer.
Each.

How exactly do the "Help" varities differ? I know they dont fit right, but I dont have any originals left to compare them to.

ouch, I dont think thats worth getting the dealer for, The only diff i see and found was the base, After doing 3 doors i found it easier to twist them in to the slot. Once there in though they do work will.

Most of mine just pop right back out of the hole.

my sisters 99, her door handle bolts were ripped out, so the only thing that was holding the door pannel on was the door unlock panel screw, the big clip that clips on the window and the panel clips. Hers were all shot so when she would close the door the panel at the bottom of the door would pull away about 6"s. When i went to fix her handle bolts i put all clips in, and the panel was held in tight, I almost could have gotten away w/o putting the handle screws back in. Once i put the screws in, I stuck a flat head inbetween the door and the door panel at the bottom to see how well they work. i was giving a fair amount of force for door panels and they didnt budge. The plastic was a good grade, they didnt feel cheap, and they put up a fight when i was trimming them down.

Cheat the system just run around to shops and go to the mechanics, not the serivce desk and ask them. At the GM stealership i used to work each mechanics had a huge bag of them and the black lug covers that were kind of free stuff the dealership gave to them to use. We had people just walk up and ask for a few they didnt care its free to them haha
