Hello, thanks for reading this. I have a 95 grand am. The headlamps just simply stopped working completely. They worked perfectly fine up through last night. The fog lamps will still turn on when i have the main switch turned to the "on" position. But the actual headlamps will not turn on at all. The Highbeams still work, partially. If i pull and hold the stick, the highbeams will turn on, but they will not stay on like they normally would when released, just a "click" then nothing again. If anyone has any suggestions or knows what the problem is, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
Channing.

I would think it may be the switch. It's normal to be able to turn the high beams on by pulling back on the switch without turning the headlights on. I'm thinking the part of the switch that you turn is probably not working.

with the high beams yes if you pull on them they will come on but if you Push the stick towards the dash they will stay on.
As goes for your normal daylight beams and all around ..... for both of them to just go out like that it might of been a fuse
I currently have to replace my bulbs, er or one at least.... it went out on me and its not as bright so i've been using my high beams at night but what sucks is that they're not adjusted right so one is going straight on while the other is pointing somewhere towards the sky :dunno: screwy aint it

IT's very possible your dimmer switch is out of adjustment or bad, causing the headlamps to not receive power. Get under the steering colum and have someone move the stalk and follow the rod you see moving down to the switch. Try manually pushing the switch, if the lights work, loosen the mounting screws and slide the switch up toward the steering wheel. If you can't click the switch manually, you need a new dimmer switch.
