I have a 99 Grand Prix I just bought and was wondering how I can tell if my car is remote reday before I go but a FOB I know what one I need just dont know if has it or not?? And second questain anyone know of any place to get used ones or cheap ones dont reall wanna fork out 65+ dollars for one I know how to program them founf that out on this thread.Thanks

There are a few ways to tell if your Grand Prix is RKE capable. First, the BCM module has to support it and there must be a RCDLR receiver installed. Not all GPs came with the RKE and theft deterrent options.

The VIN is the best way to tell. A dealer may be able to tell you or anyone that has access to check GM VIN and RPO codes.

Richtazz posted RPO codes for a '99 model Grand Prix. The RPO codes for theft deterrent system and RKE are UA6 and AU0 according to the list. See link below:

These RPO codes are located on the SPID label located on the back of the trunk lid.
