ok, just be calm, nobody is going to make fun of you cause you cant get it in. First take off your center console, then take the stock boot out and put the new one in. The new boot should have came with instructions so try to follow those, any more questions wait till someone with more expirence than I replies.

the bottom of the shift boot is a elastic band. Our shift boots connect to the frame through holes if i remember correctly. Does this mean the only way to make it fit is to cut holes in the shift boot...?

You don't have to cut holes, you can fit it in if you just wrap the bottom of the boot around the little frame, as long as you leave the tabs on the frame uncovered. (If that made any sense) I put a leather shift boot on mine and it fits fine, although mine didnt have the elastic around the bottom.

I did it I just cut the elastics and pit it on the old rack that the stock one was on but I don't know if i like it there is a lot of extra leather. so it dips in quite a bit!!

For the aftermarket ones with the elastic on the bottom, I thought you were just supposed to wrap that part around the bottom of the shifter (that acordion boot at the bottom). Then, the rest of it would just stick out the hole in the console without actually being attached to the console...
I bought one, but it was a poorly made POS, and the puke yellow color didn't match the yellow painted trim and yellow Momo shifter/e-brake handle in the car.
