If you dont want to get rid of the bose good luck, they dont play well with others. If you want to do a ground up system that pounds then heres how to do it.
Start with a high quality, high power headunit.I would suggest Kenwood or maybe Clarion. As for the cabin speakers you can keep the bose speakers but you have to run new wires to them.Be sure to use good, heavy guage wire for these as the bose really benefit from it.As for the wires and coax connectors I like fosgate or lightning audio. Now for the boom.Fosgate, Kicker, or an Alpine are solid amps that can take a serious beating and hold up well. The size is totally up to you and how much bass you want.Im currently running a Fosgate power punch 160 bridged parallel to two Kicker comp VR's wired in series. Its gott tons of boom and with a sealed box good response.Speakers are the easiest part. Anything with dual voice coils, made by a reputable company will work fine.Like I said I run Kicker comp VR,Fosgate dvc's are good, as are Kicker solobarics.

Bro if you want a good sound system the first thing u need to do is get rid of those bose speakers. If u do not have a whole lot of money right now just get some speakers anythign is better then those bose speakers.

Head Unit- Alpine, Kenwood, No sony!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Speakers- Infinity, Polk, Maybe Pioneer
Subwoofers- That really depend on you on that if you are looking for sound quailty or SPL. For SQ- use Infinity,Mb Quart etc... For SPL- Use solobarics, RF (please don't use), MMats etc.....
Mids & Highs Amp- Alpine, Maybe Kenwood, Maybe Pioneer
Subwoofer Amp- Anything that is a good high current amp please do nto get a 4 channel and think it will pound
Wire- Use Monster Cable thicker for running the rear speakers

If you have any questions on how to wire it or anymore question for audio at all post again or email me at [email protected] or hit me up on aim Nik0n7 <---- That is a zero not an o in the name

Peace- Dan

it's really a good thing to change the sound system!!

I started last week with the head unit, I took out the stock one, and I replaced it with a SUPERB JVC " MP3 playable " head unit....

Yo! take my advice, Pioneer head units are kinda decorational and you'll pay a lot for the brand name, I did a lot of research and I would recommend JVC " CD, Cassette, MP3 Play ", here's the pic of what I installed, pictures will be posted on my web site.

ciao!

Jvc is one of the worst trust me i sell this stuff and repair it jvc 's parts cost the most and they break down the most especially if u get one that the faceplate is motorized. Get alpione if u want a good radio

Go to www.crutchfield.com

they will ask you want the make, model and year of your car is and you can do it from there.

DO NOT REPLACE YOUR BOSE SPEAKERS. They work fine with my kenwood deck. They pump louder than my friends 6x9's. I have 2 cerwin vega competition 12"s in my car with a 600 watt amp and kenwood deck everything else is stock.

all together it cost me about $1200. It's not too much worl either me and my buddy put it all in ourselves. The wiring harness is the hardest part of hooking the dek up. Crutchfield will charge you $50 for a converter for the bose speakers.

It all depends on how much you want to spend. You can get good sound out of the Bose if you run them off of a seperate amp, not off the deck. You do NOT need the conversion from Crutchfield, just bipass the amp that goes with each speaker. It's fuken easy as hell, anyone can do it. Get an Alpine deck, no substitute. Subs, JL Audio, no substitute. Front and rear speakes, there's alot of good choices, depends on your music style. You'd need to listen to them with your music and make your own decision. Amps, well Pheonix Gold is my personal favorite. I've been running 2 PG amps for almost 6 years and have never had a single problem. They're super clean power, pricy, but worth every penny. Built in fans rock! Had V12 alpines and RF, both overheated all the time at high volume. They need more free air around them then I cared to give them.
Have fun and wake up the neighbors. :flipa:
