Cut my bumper for the big a$$ front mount... check it out

Well I finally decided to hack away at the bumper. The bumper was blocking a good 2-3 inches of the heigth of the fmic. The bottom still blocks 2 inches or so but, I'm good for now. I think I might get a curved pattern and smooth it out to connect back to the original curves. For now it will stay like this untill I get unlazyfied again. It won't let me put it directly in the page so I have to link it.

why not look into a 2gb bumper? I got mine for about 130 shipped

I am actually. I want the 2gb bumper and projectors. Since my bumper is going soon anyway why not cut it? Made sense to me at least. Only thing I am concerned about is if the 2gb bumper will have a big enough opening. I was looking around and it almost looks like it is just as restricting as the 2ga bumper.

Okay, I just did this in paint. I think this looks pretty nice though.

Yeah like I said I will deffinatly be getting a 2gb bumper. This is just temporary because the bumper is getting thrown in the trash anyway. Lol btw here is another paint job I just did. I like this one too. I might have to get unlazyfied and just do it.

Speaking of bumper cutting, what is the best thing to use when cutting the bumper. Because I need to cut mine when I put on my FMIC but I don't want to screw it up. I was thinking jig saw but I figured that would tear it up to much. What do you guys use?

Well for the fiber glass bumper itself I used a saw zaw and it worked wonderfully. I don't suggest using it on the plastic bumper cover though. I used a small cutting wheel powerd by an air compressor for the straight lines that were just cut.

I used a cutting wheel and then a sand blaster to get it perfect...then took touch up paint along the new edges so there was no white :-)
