I have a 98 Explorer XLT 4.0L SOHC V6 4X4,
I have spent around $2900 replacing Timing chain, tensioners, plug wires, plugs, MAF sensor, TPS sensor, IAC Valve, O2 sensor.
Check engine came on, Ihooked up my computer with codes PO171 and PO174. now reading through these forums I see that now I have to replace my pcv and possibly my upper and lower intake gaskets this is basically a common problem in these cars, is there anything else I should check before I place a stick of dynomite in the engine.

I have 97 sport and my light keep doing the same thing. I found out that the gas cap seal was bad and was triggering the light. Turned the seal over and PRESTO no more lights..........
