you could do that in a matter of hours. my friend rebuilt his SR20DET in about 7 hours, which included stripping it all down and adding all the new parts.

The guy drives a Talon. He's probably got the rebuild procedure memorized.

Kind of interesting to stumble upon this in the O/T forum....:smokin:
It's been talked about in the E/T/L forum a few times. I guess the engine failed on him after a few days of the rebuild anyway, so he ended up having to do it again. People have pointed out quite a few things he did wrong/didn't do in the video that he may or may not have done off-camera. Still a good video for anyone not familiar with engine internals though.

And BTW, that engine stock can handle 400-450 hp without needing any internal upgrades....yeah people tend to do stupid shit to cars and beat on them (especially Eclipse/Talons), but that is a solid engine that can handle double the power it is designed for.

Uh huh.
BOOM.
You can double the power output of just about any engine with a factory forced induction system without destroying it. The 4g is hardly amazing in this respect.

ok, let's the stop the inter-car rivalry.
we're talking about a rebuild video. we don't need to argue over whether the 4G63 is good or not at handling power on stock internals.
quit the bitching, it's not what we want. stop arguing.
