I'm thinking about taking my 2001 project cavalier to an insaneley stupid level. I'm really considering taking the drivetrain out of a 2000 Corvette Z06 or finding another donor for the Zeta platform. What special mating device for a transmission to get the stock engine to deal with the new drivetrain would i have to get? Or should i just get rid of the old tranny and get a new one special built for the original engine.

Insaneley stupid is right, insaneley pricey too, idk why you want to even try somethinglike this but unless you have won the lottery then your sol on that, everything that you will be doing is custom, you will have to find someone willing to make adapter plates and custom mounting brackets,OMG I GOT A HEADACHE JUST THINKING ABOUT
