A frame mount deteriated last week. I am financially capable for parts but can't pay a shop.

Can I do this by supporting the car by its bumpers and lowering one side at a time with a floor jack?

Rubber or polly?

Frame mount or motor mount? I think you are talking about a rubber motor mount. Support car with jack stands on sub frame, put a piece of 1" plywood 8"x8" between floor/screw jack and engine oil pan sump then jack up engine enough to remove pressure on the framemount/motor mount bolt and remove it. Raise engine enough to remove bolts in the rubber motor mount, install new motor mount. You may have to loosen exhaust manifold head pipe to gain enough lift to work on the mount. Everybody has a different method and I'm sure some people will tell you half a million different ways to do this, but this worked for me. Good luck

Excellent method for motor mounts, replaced those last fall and used a
9/16" distributor wrench to grab those nuts and bolts way back in the frame.

The sub frame mounts ..3 each side... that attach to the unibody. I'm thinking of supporting the unibody part with ply wood on top of jack stands and support the sub frame with a floor jack.... anyone see potential problems with that proceedure??????
