98 lasabre trunk button

The dash button to open the trunk quit working today but the remote will open the trunk, any ideas?

Well, the release motor is still good (your remote works it still) so I would look into either a pinched wire or a bad switch.

Just in case your remote trunk release runs off a different circuit than the switch release, check all your trunk-related fuses. That switch also comes off in less than a minute (pop off that wood grain dash trim, remove to small torx screws and pull the switch out) and check the switch with a volt meter if you or a friend have one.
