hmmm lets see... these were all before my old 350 was replaced with my new 383. This is my 'kill' list, most of these races were very close but i won. Not to say I havent lost. :D

95 Pontiac Grand Am*
93 Mustang GT 5.0
67 Mustang**
72 Chevelle 350
95 Camaro Z28
69 'Cuda 383
69 Dodge Charger 383

32 Ford Pickup with 351W
68 Firebird 400
66 Impala SS with 427
96 Impala SS
83 Camaro RS
86 Trans Am

*Raced the Grand Am, broke my throttle cable and got stuck at full throttle. Had to go into neutral and shut the motor off.. and coast into a gas station. I never race Grand Ams with girls in them anymore They always break my car somehow. Another time i raced yet another Grand AM with girls in it it broke my rear shocks. I know random! They're bad joojoo.

**Terminal Velocitys Old 67 Mustang with a Straight 6 with low compression in all 6, with a manual 3 spd. It wasnt a great race, but it was a race none the less.

Well I dont street race very much anymore. Not worth the risk. Here are a few of the "just asking for it" "getting on my nerves revving up" wins.

1). 1998 firebird v8
2). Subaru wrx
3). little brothers v6 mustang (my old car)
4). Buick grand sport
5). some integra that tried to cut me off
6). a couple of riced civics.

Nothing real spectacular just some that needed doing.

This is how it happened. I was following my brother somewhere, he was driving a 1995 mustang v6 and he caught a light next to a wrx. I pulled up behind the wrx in my cobra. The light turned and they took off, I was rideing up on the wrx bumper, he pulled easily past my brother so I cut over in front of my brother and hammered it in 2nd and pulled a car lenght on the wrx and shut down. I was kinda disapointed, thought with all the hpye and stuff that the wrx would be faster. It did not appear modded though.

yea good launch is hard in a WRX because of the AWD but yea it is quick but really you want to race the STi those have 280hp stock thats fair isn't it?

Yea well Sti's and Evo's have great short range acceleration they can sprint up to 100 no trouble but they aren't designed to go much faster their main strength's lie in leaping from corner to corner they can corner faster and harder than most other cars.

Im not familiar with the STi, is it in the US ? I dont think there are Evo's in the US yet. Heard they were bringing them over though. Isn't it the same bird as the Lancer?. Those cars should corner well, with the rally stuff and the works.

NSX-R-SSJ20K
08-05-2002, 05:38 PM
the STi is the WRX just with better stuff and a 280hp motor instead of the factory 227hp

STi stands for subaru Technica International who make the rally cars

and the rally cars aren't much different from the 280hp ones apart from sequential shift bla bla bla
the engine isn't much different and the Evo is a god on corners too.

I dont know if I'd say those weren't worthy races. The 300Z and Cobra are solid fast cars. You should go looking for some C5s (they're all over the place). That'll give you a hard run.

My own kill/loses list would be to long to list but the better ones are -
94 Viper RT/10 A few wins and many many loses (the same car driven by an old neighbor of mine)
94 and 95 3000GT VR4 Same as above (my wife and I trade cars and race each other)
Buick Grand National - Win
Countach - Kicked my ass
A bucket load of Cameros and Trans Ams - More wins then loses
95 Supra Turbo - Win

As far as being hard to launch the 4WD, what do you mean? I launch my Dads 2.5RS and I launched this STI, easily.....

Oh and by the way, add a BMW E36 to my kill list! Guy wanted to race for $200 but then he saw my car and only said he had $20 :hehehe:

Nope, not yet anyway. From what I can gather its gonna be well into 2003 or 2004 until we get it. I belive its hard to get into the US from a emmisions stand point.

kill:
'95 volvo 850 turbo (close)
'92 integra with b-16 j1 motor and type-R heads (REALLY close)
'00 GMC sierra w/ 5.3L vortech (easy)
'93 chevy 1500 with 4.3L (REALLY REALLY easy)
'98 mustang GT (close)
?? Volkswagen golf GTI VR-6(kind of close)
'93 probe GT (kind of close, when my car was bone stock)
'96 riced out nissan hardbody (not close)
'99 acura integra gs, riced out (not EVEN close)
'95 chevy camaro V-6 lightly modded (not close)
?? Audi TT (pretty close, had the legs on him in top gear)
'00 ford taurus SE (hey, I was bored)

been killed:
'02 mustang GT 5-speed (close until he hit 3rd gear)
'00 Acura 3.2 CL type-S (REALLY close)

I have only had my car about 3 months, so I haven't raced many people yet, had plenty of opportunities, but no one seems to want to race. so far....

killed:
'90ish box style stang 5.0 (close until 3rd gear)
rsx type s (pulled from him after hit 2nd)
mid '90's riced civic (started out behind him after a turn and still passed him while he was at wide open throttle...lol)
ford ranger w/ 5.0 V8 auto.(he actually launched on me pretty good, but I pulled on him hard through out third gear and then he just faded back)
'00 celica gts auto(just rediculous, this was the easiest win by far)

my ass handed to me:
my friends '98 Z28 M6 (I stayed within about a car length the whole race)
'01 trans am spraying w/drag radials ( that car was scary fast, his exhaust alone when he launched was so distracting I bogged my own launch a bit)
'89 stang 5.0 (cam, intake, heads, skinnies in front drag radials out back basically you name it, this guy had it)

Why would AWD be hard to launch? just dump the clutch, and instant traction pretty much... FWD should be harder to launch than AWD... please explain...

Last time I checked there was no ranger 5.0....largest they put in them was the 3.8 v6.

I hope your joking right? I didn't think I was actually going to have to explain this, but I was wrong. The guy did a "MOTOR SWAP" say it with me now, "M...O...T...O...R S...W...A...P" and yes, v-8's do fit in compact trucks. I have a friend with a 383 (350 bored and stroked) in an s10.

I agree, this particular ranger looked like shit. (made a great sleeper though) the guy driving it was like 60 years old though, so I don't think he really cared about how it looked at all. My friends s10 doesn't look too bad though, but I could definately find a better place for that 383...cough....95 Z28....cough.:D
