Today I received a new bulb for my main modelling lamp..Just recently I've decided to improve the light I use to see if it has any effect.
Dont know if many of you know, But theres a bulb in town. A daylight bulb.
It comes in various formats..The one i purchased was a Bayonet fitting ..DAYLIGHT BULB 6400k. 30w BC.From ebay..Cost around £7.
Not real daylight Ofcourse..But because of the frequency of the light..Its pretty close...Much better than tungsten or florecent.

Looks just like a power saving bulb. But the light from it is much much whiter..
I was rather impressed to be honest..

The manufacturer suggests that this bulb is the equivelant of a 150watt bulb.
You might think thats kinda bright, but because its whiter,It doesnt seem to burn your eyes so much.

Just a quick photo with one light taken from above... clearly way too much light for the subject, But with some fiddling around this bulb would be great for photos and modelling aswell..Not bad concidering that its supposted to last 8X longer than a normal bulb.
