Can someone tell me what the differences are between hardtop from a 1995 era and a 2000 era hardtop sizes.

I recently purchased a 2001 Wrangler (and selling the old 1988 Cherokee to someone else).

I am looking to replace the soft top witha hard top.

Ok, I guess that was good question because no-one responded. Anyways, I found out what the differences are...

1) The newer hardtops have two clamps on the front window.

2) The shape of the doors are a bit different and the earlier era jeeps might have a different style of door closing devices.

I was informed that I could place the older hardtop on my 2001 Jeep if I install the older (1995) doors with it, BUT it will not fit exact and might (most likely) leak in the rain.

Thanks all

A YJ hardtop will not fit your newer TJ. Don't even bother trying to make it work...It will not. Any 97+ TJ hardtop will fit your Jeep.
