how to remove stock shifter 1990 celica gt

i was wondering how you remove the stock shifter from a 1990 celica not the knob but the actual shifter and if anyone knows how much is the optimal amount to cut off the make it apear as a short shifter!

just go buy one, your not going to make it that much less y cutting it

people dont get that its not even realy the fact that the top is shorter, but the bottem is LONGER (not shorter) i always hear people say oh well i cut the top and al i do is need to cut the bottem.....sorry but geometry dosent work that way,think about it and youll get it

Yeah, the bottom on mine are lengthened and the top is also shortened. That is the best way to increase the distance any fulcrum must travel, and that is all a shift rod really is.
