Has anyone heard this? My power windows can only be operated when I hold my Door Lock button in the unlock position. Any one have the slightest clue? its an 89 silverado suburban.

Buzz;
I've got an 86 silverado suburban and have not experienced the problem you describe. I have however had power door lock issues on 3 of my 4 doors and each time it has turned out to be a broken wire in the harness where it passes from the door into the body of the truck. The door lock switch and the window switch are separate but the wires all run together in a bundle out of the door into the body. I'd start your search there by ohming out the wires from the connector inside the door into the harness in the body of the truck. I'd guess you have one or more broken/worn ones that are shorted together. In my case I just fished a new wire into place then clipped and spliced it in place of the bad one.
