Programming Instructions for Remote

Looking for instructions on programming 2nd remote for '93 Buick Pk Ave Ultra. Any help out there?

Mike, welcome to Automotive Forums. Fortunately, your car is quite simple to program. Jump the (ALDL) Assembly Line Diagnostic Link. You will find this connector under the driver side dash, but you will have to look through a square cut out in the panel to see the connector, it is recessed behind that panel, almost directly under the steering column.

Jumper pin A to pin G with a fused jumper (3A)
Doors will lock and unlock
Press the UNLOCK button on the remote
Doors should lock and unlock again
if you have more remotes press their unlock button (up to 4)
remove jumper wire

Hi! Acquired a second hand 1992 PA, but the previous driver lost the remote. I queried the local GM dealer, and he confirmed that the Buick came out of factory with a built-in keyless system. So I bought a remote, but can't get the vehicule into programming mode.

When I jump pin A and G (DLC is 12 pins), nothing happens (no lock - unlock of doors). Pin G has a metal connector (as it should), and I can do the ECM testing by jumping A and B pins (so not a A pin problem or jumper problem). I tried both as the car manual says (removing the keys from the ignition), and the procedure which came with the remote says (leaving the keys in the OFF position).

Would anyone have an idea (some fuse somewhere?, a missing part?).

I was just wondering if the dealer checked your VIN # or RPO codes to see if your car actually came from the factory with keyless entry, or did they just confirm that was an option in 1992? If you will notice the below “installment rate” of different options in the 92, that only 55% of the PA's had keyless entry installed! Could yours be one of the 45% that did not have this option?:crying:

Here is how to check to see if your car came with the option; RPO codes can be found in the trunk area of most GM cars. Yours is located on the cover for the spare tire. Look for RPO (AU0) = LOCK CONTROL, REMOTE ENTRY – KEYLESS ENTRY (See pic below for example)

The dealer told me he used the VIN () to check if the PA is equipped.
I tried to locate the RPO codes on the spare tire code, but could find nothing (except a notice explaining how to change tires). Could the RPO be possibly placed somewhere else (my car was sold by GM in Switzerland, so might have been produced out of the States (possibly Canada or Israel), though I don't know if this makes any difference)?

Look in the glove box, or under the center console lid. It has to be somewhere, unless it was removed!:screwy:

Also the vents don't blow air, just the above dash and on the floor. Even if I put it in "Mid - Floor" mode I don't get air comming out of the vents. hmmm

Ssame problem on my 92, turned out to be the vacuum reservoir on the firewall. The vacuum supply from the intake manifold came loose, so the vacuum solenoids would not operate. The vac line is a plastic line, there is a flexible rubber coupling to connect to the reservoir. Good luck.
