Hey all got the Trans Am back from paint, posted some pic's, let me know what you think (the pic's don't lie, its as smooth as glass). Anyone know where I can find chrome screens for the ram air nose & fender vents? If not im thinking about getting them painted silver (same as the emblems). The emblems (Trans Am & Ram Air) are painted on in silver under the clear coat, took off the door mouldings to clean up the side of the car.

Very nice! So, did you repaint the whole car? How much did that cost ya'? Did you do the prep work yourself?

thanks all, glad to hear the good comments. It was repainted because when I bought it the car was all keyed up ... every pannel ... that last pic was after 2-1/2 bottles of touchup (to fill in all of the scratches). It looked good from a distance ... but good from a distance wasn't what I wanted! She's as smooth as a baby's bottom now, almost kills me everytime I touch it with a polishing cloth I leave small swirl marks, so until I can wax it Im sticking to just power washing it, then I'll get all the little swirl marks out I have in it, wax it, then wax it again.
Actually its not called a roll bar ... its actually called a light bar ... because it doesn't mount to the frame, they help in a rollover, but not as much as a roll bar.
The car was vandalized before I bought it, so far i've had a new top put on it, new windshield, new side windows, new dash, had all of the seats repaired, put on the aftermarket rims & fuzzion tires (only 2 T/A rims were good), water pump, new tail lights ... and probably a few things I forgot.
Trans has a couple of syncro's out (its a 6 speed), then the upgrades start, exhaust, shocks, control arm bushings, ect.
No I did none of the paint work, I wanted a good job, so I let the experts do the paint work, best $4,500 I've ever spent!

Yeah, I feel ya there man. Some crazy b*tch keyed up my car. I've put some touch up paint on it for now, and you can't notice it at all from a distance. But still, once you walk up to it it's like a kick to the balls. It just hurts to see that. But she looks beautiful man. Keep up the great work on her.

Yes very nice/ very expensive but as you said worth it.
LOL thats more than I bought my car for!!!!!!!!!!
If you want that paint to last use some expensive waxes and detailers, and keep a schedule so you never miss a wax.
I am particularly fond of Maguires NXT products, detailers and waxes, its a little more expensive but trust me....worth every penny.
