ok me and my friend J have this bet going for $10,000
the bet is that within ten years we will race our cars for 10 grand
terms
if i can get a Skyline R34 GTR Vspec II
and if he can get a 2002 Saleen SR
with in ten years
:D
I'm gonna modify the bollocks of it
i think bet should be more tho since he picked a ridiculously expensive car and me modifying the car i get will cost alot altho i have no idea if this'll happen ..........
10 years tho !!!!!!!
the idea is to race around a track whoever has the fastest car wins
o and then there's the second bet which is what do the chicks prefer ie to find out what car gets the most girls .....
SILLY STUFF

Why an R34??? If you found a R32 V-SpecII you would have a ton more $$ left over, same engine, lighter chassis, you do the math.....

the R34 Vspec II has more stuff and it looks nicer :D

Since this is an Initial D forum, I would say you should get an R32 because Nakazoto had one, but he lost every race in the show. So you should get an R34.:D

R32 and R34 has a different chassis. the R34 is stiffer. wider and but has about the same wheel base. each generation of skylines does come with a different chassis though. just like how the R33 had the longest wheel base and such. in my opinion besides straight line. the R34 is superior in every other way. then again. the R34 has about 9 years of development over the R32.

A salleen SR? Do you mean a saleen S7? If so.....mmph....pffHAHAHAHA

for the price. the S7 is not that fast. it weights around 400 lbs less then a lambourgini yet doens't even go as fast. i've seen videos of modded skylines taking lambos. with only a fraction of the cost. for example. Motorex's R34 BLACKBIRD skyline can take the S7 on the straights. even though the S7 has an amazing suspension. the R34 is nothing to sneeze at either. a NISMO R34 with 450hp can beat a Porsche 996 and it still has a one year factory warranty. now i see that as the same class as a S7. now all you gotta do is get alittle more creative with the mods and boom. S7 is gone.

saleen s7 would get more chicks..since its such an exotic car, and the doors are those weird flip up thingy type stuff...or whatever..
I can see GTRs get chicks..but iv seen too many now...they are getting more commen by the year. still great looking cars...but i would go for the S7
If you really want to go for agressivness (is that a word), power, and the ability to pick up chicks, within a 10 year period..why not check out some future model cars..i mean...in 10 years the R34 will be like a supra TT to us now. I would bet the R35 would be well into development by the end of your bet. I would have looked ahead and probably thought of a better car to purchase in the future...ahem..Viper....anyway..i think i need to stop rambling..my spelling and gramer is horrible. I think it would be smart for people to shoot me now.

<aims carefully> just hold reaaal still... :D
Okay, there is no way a Lamborghini takes the S7. Lamborghinis have great accelleration and top speed, because they have a good engine, and AWD. When it comes to handling, braking, anything else, they struglle with 3900 lbs of handicap. The S7 is much lighter, and has a 7 liter Ford based smallblock. In street prep it makes something like 600hp...
Besides, he's not talking about the S7, he's talking about the Saleen/Speedlab SR. The SR is a loosely mustang sytled front engined GT car, with a tube frame chassis, and I'm not sure, but I think a 351 based engine. It is deadly fast, and is a true race car(1.5gs on skidpad). The SR would eat the S7 for lunch...

The S7 acceleration is on a par with the McLaren F1, and as you said, its handling capabilities are awesome. How are you comparing it to a R34?

Do you think you'll be able to take on my RX7 after I put $5K into it? I'm betting you can't... It's going to run on propane too, so it'll leave a really foul smell as it blows your doors off! :)
I'm betting a 1000 hp skyline could still take it out, but for $5k, what do you want? The advantage of the propane is, it's 130 RON, and makes 51mj/kg, as opposed to gas, which makes 43mj/kg... It's already really cold from compression so it cools the charge even more than the IC, so it's really the best fuel for turbocharging! Combine that with SEFI, and you've got power up the wazoo. 6.6 liter Ford smallblock, twin turbocharged, running on propane.

I want a LanEvo... damned import laws...
My goal in the T Rex is to spend perhaps $10K total, and have a car that will kill anything on the street, or the track for that matter.
What I've described is the stage 2 mods, propane EFI conversion, twin turbos. That should be somewhere in the neighbourhood of 500-600hp, depending on how much the bottom end can take.
Stage 1 is getting a transmission attached, and giving it a 4 barrel/aluminum intake, a cam, and new distributor. Also a rebuild with forged 8.3:1 pistons.
My goal here is to start with a $50 car, free engine and $100 tranny, and make a running 400hp car. I've scouted a widebody kit so I can fit big tires, and I might end up replacing the rear suspension with Porsche torsion bars...

Well, emissions are sort of necessary, to prevent global warming and whatnot. I just love saying whatnot.
The thing is, new cars are getting so good with emissions, ULEV can actually clean the air in places like Mexico city. Cars that clean the air. Now I'm figuring, the new cars coming out will actually reduce pollution, so why can't I run a polluting whore of a motor?

if they reduce pollution then they can make pollution machines to reduce the pollution in the atmostphere and have such machines in lots of sizes which fill in any sort of thing and maybe shove em in traffic lights

Ah, but imagine 10 years down the road with hydrogen power econoboxes actually scrubbing the air! I'm trying to figure out what sort of emissions the RX7 will put out... Ford 400Ms were built to reduce emissions, but I stripped all of that off, and I'm getting a new manifold with an EGR plate, so that's no good. I think it should have really low emissions once it's on propane though...

Um, I was trying to say that although it'll have emissions stuff now, when I move back to Vancouver it will pass emissions.
I thought of a cool new slogan for my business, "Goes like stink!", because I'm working on LPG/CNG/Hydrogen conversion, and LPG which will be the most popular for now, smells really bad. It's kind of a fancy name for propane. CNG is natural gas of course... All of them are like the ultimate fuel for turbocharging. Even a Skyline would make more power on propane(prod prod)

Propane is way better than any type of racing fuel. Even running full alcohol, propane is still a better fuel. Alcohol has higher octane than gas, lower octane than propane, and less energy than either. Propane has higher octane than either, and more energy too! Confused yet? Propane rocks. Only hydrogen is superior.
Propane = more boost. More boost = more power. More power you get the picture :D
