I have a 97.5 Regal GS....I replaced the front struts w/ Monroe Sensatracs....The ride got a little better, but i still feel small bumps in the road. It makes a harsh ride....I later learned that i should have replaced the upper strut mounts....When i look at them from the engine compartment, the rubber looks ripped and worn... Now i have to take the whole strut out and do it again. While im at it i would like to change to KYB.... Can anyone tell me what i need to replace to get it completely done? Ive heard of the strut mount, bearing, and spring cradle...I want to do it complete so i never have to do it again.

Although it is a good idea to replace upper strut mounts/load bearing I don't believe that would account for the harsh ride problem. When they wear out noise is more of an issue. Monroe struts are marginal at best.
If you have visible damage to any of the bushings or strut mounting parts then it should be replaced. You can get the complete upper strut mount/load bearing.
The KYBs are good struts but the ride will be firmer and you may still feel a lot of the road.
Also, if you have high mileage check the height of the strut coil springs or for wear.
