Do I Need To Remove Battery To Weld

:banghead: i'm about to weld a small plate on my car(with an arc welder) and i am wondering if i need to remove the battery or fuses in case i short something:banghead:

Well yes and no, if it has a computer on it i would do it. But i would unhook it even if it didnt have a computer, just for safety sake.
