What is a good putty for use with Resin, I was thinking standard Revel or Tamiya putty, or must I use a resin type putty? Someone said you can make your own using CA glue and sanding dust, but CA glue is hard, and resin is soft, so I want something that sands and blends better this using CA glue and resin dust etc…
Also, does Tamiya primer adhere well to resin? Or would I be better of using an automotive based lacquer primer? I know you can use any type of primer, I’m just looking for confirmations that’s all. I was considering using the primer decanted from the can through my airbrush, but if I do this, I might just buy some standard bottle automotive primer instead, or would Tamiya primer be a bit thinner and more suitable for resin? I don’t want the paint to lift off, so I want it to adhere as soon as I start to apply TS white, I don’t want it to peel or flake off from the slightest touch..
Thanks all..

I see people use tamiya's putty on resin kits

Super glue with an accelerant works great in my experience.

I'll second that, superglue works well.
Not all resins are the same either. I just did a couple BBR Ferrari's and the resin was so hard it was almost the same hardness as superglue. While hard and brittle, it made it easy to work with a filler of the same density.
Other brands of resin I've worked with are very soft, but with care super glue can still be used with great results, and it feather edges well. Just use it sparingly so only have to do a minimum of sanding... - Mark

I've used plain old Testor's putty on resin bodies and have had no problems. My projects tend to sit a while before I sand them so that may be a partial explanation.I've wondered if some of the same chemicals in that are in the resins used in models because they smell similar.

Try mixing dense cyanoacrylate with some talc powder and use that as putty. It works really great when you take some practice and experience with the mix. It dries fast as hell and it gets nearly the same density as plastic, you can sand it very susccesfully.

I've used both Evercoat EuroSoft putty and Tamiya primer on resin with no issues at all.
