I understand the z4 is replacing the z3. But what is replacing the M Roadster- or is BMW bringing it down to a 1 roadster model.

Early scuttlebutt says that the M version of the Z4 will arrive for the 2004 model year. Now that BMW is going to start the whole "two door=even model number/four door=odd model number" scheme, I assume it would be called the M4, but it might just be called the M, just like the old roadster was.

Also, the SMG transmission will be available in both the 2.5 and 3 liter Z4 starting in spring.

SMG? I would go for the 6speed MT. I'm gettin' a Z4 3.0L in a few years. Damn, the M4(or whatever) must cost like $70,000

i´m sure it won´t be named m4

cause when the new 3 series starts in 2006/2007 the coupe and cabrio will be called 4 series.
