The small one is the Ignition Control Module or "Igniter" (on bottom) and the other thing is that is bigger is the Coil (on top).

no one is going to sell you just the ignitor...you're going to have to get a whole new or used dizzy. Also, like someone else said, and I've heard this before, you can just go to the dealer and get your Ignitor replaced because It was a recal on 4th gens....I'd look into that.
Main relays and Ignitor's are the things that go most often on these cars.

It was a recall on the stock engine, not his b16, and even if it was, dealership wont touch it..I know they sure as hell wouldnt touch my car.

just go to the junk yard and get one. i had a spare one in my car knowing they where a problem and when it fried i changed it on the side of the highway. took 20min. plus if it fits in your pocket at the junk yard, its free :)

of course they said that. but if they keep the distributors on the engines and dont take them off then just go out to the yard and disasemble it yourself.
it's probably the only way to get one.

dealership doesn't have to know....the b16 uses the same one has his stock distributor. Do you have your old distributor?
All he has to do is go in and tell them his ignitor went out and that it needs a new one because it was recalled. They'll have to change it....it goes by the car, not the engine.
