Just bought a Tumult 15" for 400 bucks. its a older model, but its only been used once and its in perfect conditon. the guy that i bought it from is buliding me a vented box for it. i'd do it but i work to much and hes only asking 20 bucks... the MDF costs more then that. so now i just need a amp i was thinkin about the HiFonics BXI2006D. its 350+shipping on ikesound.com. im looking to spend about 400 total on the amp. im just not sure on the ohm's and how to wire it the best way and all that so if someone could clue me in that would be great. also if theres a better amp for around 400 im open to suggestions. anybody think i over paid for the speaker?

depends whether its dual 4 or dual 2 ohm.

i dont even know if its 4 ohm or 2 ohm. whats the best way of figuring that out?

ok so i figured out its a dual 2 ohm speaker. yea none of my friends have heard of adire audio or RE or any of the good speakers. all of them think a W7 is the best speaker out there...lol. actually i showed one of my friends a pic of my 15 and he thought it was a W7. but anyways y not buy from ikesound? where would you suggest. also id like sum other amp ideas for around 400 bucks. thanks

oh and btw my box just got done being bulit. its 4.3 cubes and tuned to 33 hz vented of course. i cant wait to get my amp, gonna take me a few weeks to save up for it tho cus im making payments on my jeep.

any amp suggestions for the 2 ohm dual vioce coil speaker?? also whats a good website to buy from? someone said not ikesound

they are amazing amps, ive seen installs wired down to below 0.5ohm nominal with no problems and some installs lower than 0.35ohm nominal for SPL and the power supply can handle up to just over 16v. 0.35ohm nominal + 16vdc = over 3,000w...

Depends on what you are looking for. For a lot of people's tastes the w7 is the best speaker for the range they use it on. I have been through a idmax, a XXX, and a 12O flatcone. I stuck with the flatcone even though I don't care much for the company that speaker covers my tastes the best

ok so i finally got enough money for an amp. im still unsure about what to get. im looking at the hifonics Hifonics BXi 2006D from onlinecarstereo.com. says it has a 1 year warranty, its $362 and free shipping. my other idea was a eD NINe.1 its $350. im looking to spend around that much. this amp is for a dvc 2 ohm 15" tumult. i will be buying a amp in about 2 days when a check clears. any other amp ideas?? also if i buy from onlinecarstereo is the warranty still good if i actually use the amp?

If you are interested I will sell you my RE 12.1 for 400 plus shipping. A lil over what you said your trying to spend, but SOOOOOOLID amp.

From my experence, if SQ is before SPL...save more money. Cheap power is dirty power when you push the amp with cheap power near its limits. ie Hifonics.

Save up an buy a used 20.1 or something of the likes. :)

funny, hifonics "used" to be a really good amp company like 15 years ago - I guess they got bought out. The old Zeus VII was awesome, VERY few companies were putting out 300 watt/ch RMS (4 ohms) amps in the 90's, and they always rated high on "sound quality" as well.

I had a power acoustic amp, it crapped out on me *coulda been my fault too*. Thats beside the point.

The build quality on the amp sucked arse. It was a CRAPPY soldering job done on that board. Hell, Sony Xplod amps are cleaner than the one I had.

Just get the Hifonics, but you have a hell of a sub to hook up a DECENT amp to, should have done vice versa.

yeah i know... ill end up selling this amp and buying a nice one after i get a new HU. im about to get a raise at work too so that will help.

DITTO. And a NINe.1 from Elemental Desings would be a good amp. But I'm bias. I own two of them. 350 plus shipping from eD brand new.
