Both the truck and the tailer are 1:18th scale DUB escalades, the trailer is just sitting there for now becasue I just got done cutting it out from the escalade, should be finished in the rough when I can get to the hobbie shop.. but here is a mock up photo.. Let me know what you guys think.. Thanks for the look

Glad you guys like it.. I am also making a custom concil for this truck.. its going to be holding probably 2 subs.. Oh and this is Kinda weird and some of you will be like WTF.. but I am also putting a viper v-10 in this.. Yes I know.. Mopar and Caddy.. but what the hell LOL
And look at the grill.. its custom.. kinda has a upside down triangle that is now solid in the grill and will be painted the same color as the truck.

Here is a little update guys.. here is how the concil is going to look.. and a picture of the Viper V-10.. Painted from another escalade.. going to paint it the same color as the truck ( pearl tangerine )

if some of you recall i started a project about a year ago were i put a viper engine in the ml55. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=417103 well recentley picked up that project agian. so once we both are done it'll be two totally different cars w/ the same engine!

btw were are you taking the viper engine from? got mine from the older bburago.

scarface199

I think it was a bburago, the GTS.. Blue with white stripes..

here is a update on the trailer.. still have to add some more putty, and then smooth it out.. but this is how it is looking so far.. I used thin Balsa wood for the rear bumper.. and some thicker balsa wood for the front of the trailer.. still have to get to the hardware store for square aluminum tubing to make the frame to connect to the trailer hitch...

that's pretty sweet. what did you do with the front half of the esclade that you cut in half?

scarface199
06-19-2006, 10:13 PM
its pretty much destroyed.. I used a hack saw to make the cuts.. so I had to break the "support" pillars ( I know thats not the Technical term ) to get the saw to the next one.. I can take a picture of that if you want me to LOL..
I will have more updated pictures of the trailer tomorrow.. I have been sanding the Sh*t out of it tonight.. and its came along alot farther than I thaught I would be at this time.

nosliw2004
06-19-2006, 10:53 PM
yeah a pic of the destroyed escalade would be sweet. in your first picture, at first when i looked at it the trailer looks like a gmc sonoma pickup bed but after seeing closer pics i noticed it was and escalade.

scarface199
06-20-2006, 04:39 PM
I will get thoes pics ASAP! I had to destroy the escalade.. there are WAY to many of them around.. had to make something origional.. Never seen a Escalade turned into a pickup truck, ive seen silverados with escalade front clips.. but never a escalade truck.. and to have a trailer from a escalade.. I might sell this when I am done.. depends on how it turns out.

Here is a little update.. Made a ball hitch for the trailer.. and made it connect to it.. made the "frame" of the trailer out of square wood with putty over it..
The ball hitch, I found a tounge ring ball that was metal, and epoxied it to the bumper... and came out with this..

are you painting the rims from hobbes? the hitch looks nice.

scarface199

I am going to paint the dust plate behind the rims.. Or I might take them off and put some breaks.. depends on if I can find a whole break set laying around the house.

I love this build. Just don't donk it :)

It would be waaaay cooler if you got 6 same wheels for the truck and trailer, even if they won't be as cool, as the ones from hobbes. IMO

Legolas PT
06-22-2006, 08:51 AM
yes, if the rims were all the same, it would look a lot better!

scarface199
06-22-2006, 11:24 AM
that would be just way to much work.. and it would be too much money.. I am happy with the Maya DTS's on the trailer.. not really looking for anything special for the trailer since I will beable to unhook it from the truck so the truck is just by itsself.

nosliw2004
06-22-2006, 03:36 PM
suggestion: you can buy the same car that hobbes is giving you and then you will have the extra set of rims.

scarface199
06-23-2006, 04:01 PM
I cant find that car anywhere.. and dont really have money to get a car just for 2 of the rims.. the Maya DTS's are basic 5 spokes, just like what is going on the truck.. just the trucks are more elaborate..

Got the new rims in the mail today.. Thanks to Hobbes.. They look awsome on the car.. One of the rims had a hole in the center.. so I fixed that problem and found a braclet in my house with small diamonds in it and put them in the center of the rims ( YES the diamonds are real, just not enough carrots to mean anything, thats why they are on my diecast)
Here are some pics...
THANKS AGAIN HOBBES!!!!!

yup that is the stock Escalade bumper.. the front bumper is going to be molded to the body.. since the fittings that hold it to the chassis broke off. So i epoxied it to the body, and im going to fill it in with the bondo, I am probably going to mold the "tailgate" to the truck also since it would be to hard to get it to open since it was a hatch before. should be another update later on today.. thanks for all the comments guys.. its my motivation.
I might have to enter this in the MOTM when it starts again LOL

I like it, only bits of advise I can offer on such a good job, would be to move the plate to the side of the tailgate, still at the angle, and a little larger diameter exhaust, but great work up to this point, keep it up.

nosliw2004
07-01-2006, 03:46 AM
you should mold the rear bumper to the car aswell. and you should put a rear window in.

p.s. are you planning on having a toneau cover?

scarface199
07-01-2006, 04:13 PM
I like the position on the licenes plate.. every one i have seen has been off to one side.. never had I seen it in the middle. and as for the exaust.. I see exacally where you are coming from.. that is the only size I have found sofar laying around.. and the rear window, I am going to leave that solid, so I can add subs and amps behind the seats.. I dont know yet if It will have a tauna cover.. I have some stuff planed for the bed of the truck.
And thanks to the 1:18th scale magnum.. I now have lambo doors for this.. still have to do the drivers side.. alot of filing on the hinge to get it to work...

yeah like I said.. that one was temp.. i have it from the first escalade I EVER customized.. in like 1999 or 2000.. the other one is still billit.. but a little more live and customized to go with the truck.. I have mad plans for the bed.. and the rims.. but noone will see thoes untill the truck is completly finished

scarface199
07-04-2006, 03:15 AM
gonna strip the rest of the paint off the body.. there are some places that didnt come off.. and i forgot about so its just rough bubbled up paint.. and once that is off.. the rear doors will be finished.. and the tailgate will be molded to the body.. then it should be ready for some primer to check for low and uneven spots in the bondo so I can correct it before I paint it. And this is about the color that the truck is going to be.. this is Kandy Tangerine... but it might be a little different from the Shimrins Kandy Tangerine
