Need help now with O-rings

I've got the LIM back on and ready for the UIM. There was 2 orange O-rings about the size of a nickel and a black one quarter sized in the box with the LIM. Not sure what they are for? I"m kinda concerned about where they go. In putting the pcv back in seems like I remember something about two black O-rings. There was only one in the pack with the larger orange one and a spring. The old UIM did not have a spring and only 1 O-ring on the pcv.
Now in regards to the injector O-rings, do the injector pull out of the fuel rail? I'm assuming they do and one set of rings go up top and the other set on the bottom. I have pulled gently but can't remove an injector from the rail.

See link below for PCV valve guide. Only one small black o-ring goes on the PCV valve. The big orange o-ring seals the UIM opening for the PCV valve and MAP sensor retainer. The spring is for the MAP sensor retainer that locks down over the PCV valve.

Do you think the other o-rings are for the 90 degree plastic elbow. Did the new elbow come with o-rings? The kits have o-rings for the elbow anticipating it will be OK and re-used.

On the fuel injectors, yes they will pull off the rail. Pull harder. You will have upper and lower fuel injector o-rings. Make sure they match.

BTW - The u shaped retainer/clip to each fuel injector at the rail must be removed first before pulling each out.

Bob, the sheet with the pcv says to use two black o-rings under the pcv. I'm sure one of the orange goes under the elbow on the side of the UIM. That leaves one orange and a black one a little larger.

Using two o-rings won't hurt but I have only seen one ever used and it works OK. Lets say I never get any EGR flow problems due to a missing o-ring.

Hang in there sounds like you are progressing quite well. I forget you are two hours ahead of me. The Falcons weren't much better but there is always the next season. Good luck!

There were two packs of injector O-rings with six in each one. Six were fat ones and six were a little slimmer. I replaced the six upper with the fat ones and the skinny ones don't fit the bottom. I think both should be the same size.

After I learn to fix my GP, I hope I can figure out how to post pics like that. I guess I'll have to get six new o-rings tomorrow for the bottoms. Then I'll be down the homestretch.

Wally, I think that other o-ring is for the small elbow out of the back of the UIM where the brake booster hooks up, I'll check at work when I get there.

The Pistons choked in the playoffs (but still had a great season) and my beloved Red Wings choked in the first round (like they always do when they win the Presidents Cup). Much of that was thanks to the refs not calling the obstruction like they said they would (and the rest was Dwayne Rolosons awesome goaltending).

I will call Dorman on this issue. I pulled another intake kit off the shelf, and it has 2 different size o-rings as well, so it has to be a problem at the manufacturer. I pulled the GM o-ring kit, and all the injector o-rings are the same size.

I picked up some at Advance for $3.98 for four, naturally I had to buy two sets. I should have just left the uppers in as they were extremely hard to remove and they all looked in new condition. At least they weren't $8.00 a piece like the heater o-rings.

Yeah Rich, we know. We figured that out last night...lol :lol:

The pic is of the proper fuel injector o-rings AC Delco PN: 217-454.

That is why I stay with genuine GM/AC Delco only. As a matter of fact the L36 and L67 injector seals are identical and I have a pack in my spares kit.

I'll put Dorman parts on my sh*t list.

We've sold a bunch of these, and haven't had a problem yet (I personally have installed three of these intakes and the ones I used had the correct o-rings in the kit). No problem with me Rich. Everyone knows I'm AC Delco only when it comes most critical parts. The only Dorman parts I have ever bought were door panel and trim fasteners. But mistakes do happen. :dunno:

The ones I got at Advance were Fel-Pro.
So Rich, do I get a refund? Ha ha ha! I thought the Dorman kit also included the spacers too.
