I have a 2000 Expo, that since I bought it used, has been great, but for the lights, from turning signals to brake lights, they are all now done, the headlights and fog lights are fine, so are the interior lights.. Just the Signal and Brake.. Any ideas, and yes, I have changed the front one's and NOTHING... I am about to go to any mechanic, but I want to at least have an idea of what going, on or maybe if I can fix it myself.. ANY HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

Possibly the multifunction/turn signal switch. Both of those circuits run through the switch.

If it is the switch, then how do I go about changing it.. It is toooo difficult ? I just changed all the light bulbs so that there would be nooooo questions about it.. Thank you once again, I am now starting to get somewhere with this problem.. THANK YOU !

The switch is easily changed. There are about 3 screws that run up through the bottom of the steering wheel trim. Remove these and pry the top of trim up far enough to see the top screw on the switch. It is a T20 torx headed screw. There is also one on the bottom. You may have to remove the tilt lever if it is in the way. Remove both screws, unplug wiring connectors and remove switch. Install new switch into the wiring connectors and see if the lights work. If they do, finish installation.

Just a thought....but have you checked all the fuses yet??? Usually a good place to start. Looks like fuse #13 and #23 (look in the owners manual) have a lot to do with brake lights, signals, and hazards! Might not be, but it might be an easy fix. Let us know what you find. Hope this helps. MM. By the way...if you do want to replace the multi-function switch...check with your dealer first....there was a recall on some Expeditions for the same part. Just FYI.
